Corinne Pierog, a resident of Batavia, IL, has resided in Kane County for over 20 years.

Born in Chicago, her family relocated to southern California when she was thirteen. After finishing graduate school, she left California for New York City to start her career as a college professor. After living on the East Coast, Pierog decided to return home to Illinois, settling in St. Charles. There as a single mom, she bought a “fixer-upper,” raised her young family, opened a management consulting firm, and entered the world of politics.

Before elected as the Kane County Board Chairman, Pierog served two terms on the St. Charles D303 Board of Education. She was, under Governor Pat Quinn, appointed to the IL Business Enterprise Program Council. Pierog was also a former candidate for the IL State Senate.

Active in issues facing her community, Pierog is the 1st vice-chair of the Kane County Democrats and the founding chair of the Kane County Democratic Women. Knowing the importance of public service, she has served on the Board of the United Way of Central Kane County, as the 1st vice-chair of Age Guide of Northeastern Illinois, and as appointed member of the St. Charles Housing Commission.

Pierog is a graduate from the University of California, Irvine, holds a master’s degree from San Francisco State University and an MBA with a focus on leadership from Roosevelt University. A former university professor and college administrator, Pierog changed careers to focus her work on community economic development and nonprofit management.

Pierog is looking forward to continuing the issues that face Kane County with integrity. “We can no longer afford to look at the past or be mired in the present. Kane County’s leadership must begin to make substantive plans to address the County’s future.”
